Valentina Venturi is a sailor since the age of 8 from Cattolica, Italy.
She holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and works at the European Organization for Nuclear Research, CERN, since 2012.
She held the role of president of the Yachting Club CERN for 3 years, and she has organized several regattas.
During a Monaco Winter Serie event in J70 in 2016 she realized with her friend Kassandra the need to build an anchorless buoy. Since then she has worked on her free time during her PhD to build SMark with one main goal: make it so light that anyone can lift it alone.
